About the Program
Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Turkey is a three-day STEM program that brings together 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students with diverse science disciplines, combining the academic competition experience with hands-on work and mentorship.
At Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Turkey, students do not just learn science theoretically for three days; they research, question, solve problems, and create. Working on real-world problems in practical workshops guided by undergraduate mentors from Harvard universities, students experience project development and participate with their projects in the Olympiad sessions covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Earth & Environmental Sciences.
Program Outcomes
The Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad program offers an international academic experience designed to develop students’ scientific thinking, analytical problem-solving, teamwork, research, and academic communication skills.
Students develop their scientific thinking, inquiry, and analytical problem-solving skills by applying their knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Earth & Environmental Sciences. Through projects that connect different scientific disciplines, they gain skills in effective time management, taking responsibility within a team, communicating with confidence, approaching scientific problems from different perspectives, and thinking across disciplines.
Through hands-on activities and project development processes, students apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world problems and strengthen their research, solution development, decision-making, and practical application skills. Their work with mentors helps them refine their ideas and broaden their scientific perspectives.
With mentorship support from Harvard undergraduate students, participants have the opportunity to gain direct insight into academic life, university experiences, scientific research culture, and future goals. This international academic environment supports students’ scientific curiosity and strengthens their motivation toward their future educational goals.
A Message from the Co-Presidents of the Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad
Dear Science Enthusiasts and Science Lovers,
On behalf of the entire Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad (HUSO) and mentor team, it is our great honor to invite you to the Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Türkiye Camp.
For years, the Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad has been dedicated to providing accessible STEM education to K-12 students. To support this mission, we organize our annual Science Olympiad Invitational Tournaments, particularly focused on serving students in the New England region, as well as global conferences such as Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Türkiye, which aim to expand the reach of science competitions beyond the United States.
Through this groundbreaking program, Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Türkiye aims to inspire and nurture an interest in science among the world’s next brightest minds — YOU! Our goal is not simply to measure your ability to memorize information from textbooks; we also aim to encourage your curiosity, help you use science to solve real-world problems, and develop your ability to apply what you learn.
Throughout this intensive program, you will have a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of fields, including biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and earth/environmental sciences. The program is built around a curriculum carefully designed and led by dedicated undergraduate mentors from Harvard and MIT, many of whom are former Olympiad medalists and experienced researchers.
It is an honor for us to be among the first to welcome you to this program!
We cannot wait to see what you will achieve!
