
Harvard Student Agencies Government Summer School
Program Outcomes
The Government Academies, is an interdisciplinary and intensive academic program designed for high school students interested in law and politics. The program is conducted through courses, academic discussions, and practical work led by senior students studying at Harvard; it aims to enable students to criticall y evaluate today's global issues from a multidimensional perspective. Held on the ITU campus, this program instills in participants a culture of university-level thinking, discussion, and analysis at an early age.
This section not only provides students with comprehensive knowledge of law and political science, but also broadens their horizons and enables them to grow into visionary leaders who will shape the world.
For young people who don’t just observe, but take the floor and help shape the future.

Edona Cosovic is a third-year undergraduate student at Harvard University, residing in Eliot House. She concentrates in Political Science and pursues a secondary field in Economics.
In addition to her academic work, she serves as Co-President of the Harvard Albanian Students Association, Director of Outreach at PBHA Small Claims Advisory Service, and a writer for The Harvard Crimson. She is also an active member of the Harvard Foreign Policy Initiative and Harvard College Debate.

She also serves as a First-Year Representative for the Harvard African Students Association.

Yasemin Yaşa Erkut (1980) serves as the Head of Public Policy at Amazon Web Services Türkiye. She completed her education at Red Cross Nordic United World College in Norway and received her undergraduate degree in International Relations and Economics from Mount Holyoke College in the United States. She also studied International Trade at American University. Erkut began her career at the United States Congress and later served for nine years as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Türkiye. She has held leadership roles in public affairs, corporate relations, and health policy at Herbalife International, Mey|Diageo, and MSD. She has taken active roles in organizations such as YASED, TÜSİAD, and various business platforms, and served as the founding member and Chair of the Board of the Public Communication and Corporate Affairs Management Association.

Prof. Dr. A. M. Celal Şengör

Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör is a geology professor recognized for his academic work in the field of earth sciences. His research primarily focuses on tectonics, structural geology, and plate tectonics, particularly the formation and evolution of the Earth’s crust. In addition to his academic studies, he has a strong interest in the history and philosophy of science and contributes to the advancement and dissemination of scientific thought.
