Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz

Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz serves as the Rector’s Advisor responsible for R&D Projects and Quality at Doğuş University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Education, a master’s degree in Computer Education, and a Ph.D. in Educational Technology. Throughout her academic career, she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as computer science education, the integration of innovative educational technologies, and inclusive learning design; led projects in these fields; and organized training programs, seminars, and workshops for teachers, administrators, students, and parents. Between 2019 and 2023, she served as the Rector of Bahçeşehir University (BAU), and from 2021 to 2024 she was a Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Turkish Basketball Federation.

She has also served as Vice President of CIFAL Istanbul, affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, and held various academic and administrative positions including Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Director of the Center for Innovative Education and Research, and Founding Director of the Teaching and Learning Center. She has taken active roles in organizations such as the TÜSİAD Education Working Group, the Future in Education Association, and the Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions Foundation. She served as a commission member in the Ministry of National Education’s 2016–2017 curriculum revision for the Computer Science course and the Information Technologies and Software curricula at primary and secondary school levels. She currently chairs the Scientific Committee of the Harezmi Education Model project, initiated by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and expanded nationwide by the Ministry in 2023.

Her leadership in education has been recognized with the “Successful Woman Educator of the Year” award at the “Women Leaders in Technology” competition organized by Microsoft and KAGİDER in 2016, and the “Social Impact Award” presented by BAU in 2018. She has served as a manager, researcher, and consultant in projects conducted by national and international organizations such as TÜBİTAK, the Ministry of National Education, UNICEF, the World Bank, and the European Union. She has authored numerous national and international books, articles, conference papers, and reports in the field of educational technologies.
