Innovation Camp & Contest 2027
Innovation Camp and Competition
About the Program
The Innovation Camp and Competition is a four-day innovation camp and project competition led by expert educators from the Technical University of Berlin. It introduces students to next-generation digital solutions, including artificial intelligence, smart systems, and data technologies. Throughout the program, students work in teams of up to six and gain hands-on learning experience, from identifying problems and developing solutions to prototyping and presenting their projects.
Through training sessions, hands-on methodology workshops, and project work, students apply their newly acquired knowledge directly to their own projects. At the end of the program, teams present their developed projects in English to a panel of judges. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate of participation approved by the Technical University of Berlin. In addition, six finalist teams selected by the jury earn the opportunity to participate in a five-day, four-night international final program held at the Technical University of Berlin.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students develop their ability to systematically address real-life problems by identifying problems, breaking down complex challenges, conducting root cause analysis, and determining user needs. This allows them to experience not only developing solutions but also identifying the right problems to solve.
Through design thinking and project development processes, students transform their ideas into tangible solutions while strengthening their creative thinking, prototyping, technology integration, and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills. They gain an understanding of how artificial intelligence, data technologies, and smart systems can be used to solve different challenges.
Through teamwork and mentoring, students develop their project management, task delegation, collaboration, decision-making, and entrepreneurial thinking skills.
During their final presentations, students structure and defend their projects in English before a panel of judges, developing their technical English, effective presentation, persuasive communication, and feedback evaluation skills. This provides them with valuable experience in communicating their ideas effectively in academic and professional settings.
