Program Outcomes

The Government Academies, is an interdisciplinary and intensive academic program designed for high school students interested in law and politics. The program is conducted through courses, academic discussions, and practical work led by senior students studying at Harvard; it aims to enable students to criticall y evaluate today's global issues from a multidimensional perspective. Held on the ITU campus, this program instills in participants a culture of university-level thinking, discussion, and analysis at an early age.

This section not only provides students with comprehensive knowledge of law and political science, but also broadens their horizons and enables them to grow into visionary leaders who will shape the world.

For young people who don’t just observe, but take the floor and help shape the future.

Interaction and Inspiration: The student engages one-on-one with future-shaping speakers and Harvard faculty members, explores today’s global challenges, and gains a broader perspective on law and international policy.
Legal Skills: Students learn to approach cases and legal documents like a lawyer, strengthening their critical thinking and analytical reading abilities. This training prepares them for a mock trial, where they have the opportunity to assume the role of an attorney, witness, or judge and simulate a real court proceeding. Through a strong curriculum, they not only study the legal system but also develop a deeper understanding of what pre-law education truly entails.
Within the law focus, students examine different legal systems, landmark court decisions, and legal texts, experiencing the way a legal professional thinks. The program prepares students for a mock trial, enabling them to take on the roles of attorney, witness, or judge and simulate an authentic legal process. Throughout this experience, critical reading, argument development, and oral advocacy skills are reinforced. In the international policy focus, diplomacy, governmental structures, political decision-making mechanisms, and relations between nations are explored. Students conduct analyses across a broad spectrum, from political campaigns to legislative processes, and complete the program by developing their own public policy proposals.
